Joey Lieberman is an audio producer from Chicago, Illinois. He began his career in podcast production in 2017 with the eight-part investigative series The Spectator: Who Killed Molly Zelko?

In 2021, Joey earned his Masters degree at Northwestern University’s Sound Arts and Industries Graduate Program. The program culminated with his final Study in Sound, the investigative podcast Chicken Joe & The Angel of Joliet.

In addition to podcasting, Joey is an accomplished pianist, music producer, and voice actor. He composes original music for his podcasts and has released two albums of electro-pop music under the moniker Smug Joe. He is also the current keyboardist for Chicago rock band Milk Harbour.
